After the 7.00 o’clock news we have Member’s Choice until 7:30 where we play the music chosen by a GDR member.
7.30 pm brings All Stops Out. Organ music, ranging from Hammonds to large Wurlitzer theatre organs.
Each week, between 8.00 pm and 10.00 pm we feature a number of tracks from an album of music selected by a listener after answering a simple question. The music may be old or new or somewhere in between.
Following the latest news, sport and weather at 10.00 o’clock we step into the GDR95.7fm Country Music Barn for some great Country and Western music.
Along the way, there will be a quiz or two, a little humour, and some interesting odds and ends.
The Tuesday night Variety Show, where variety is the name of the game.
How did you first connect with GDR?
A few years ago I was looking for a radio station that was playing some nice easy music, old and some new, as there really was not a commercial station that played this style of music.
GDR met my expectations.
As secretary of Southern Suburbs Orchid Society, I saw an opportunity for the club to become a community group member, be publicised on radio and attract new members or visitors to our club.
Why did you want to be a presenter?
Too much free time and not enough stress in my life!!!!!
From a young age I saw myself as being a radio presenter but never had the opportunity until now.
What experience do you want to give your listeners?
Being valued
Being appreciated
Being important
The feeling that the music being played is especially for you
