The program is an amalgam of musical genres and time periods, reflecting the wide ranging music played by GDR during the week. We open with a Grammy Hall of Fame track and historical notes. Music from the Family Tree at 5.30 is a track from up to 70 years ago with an invitation to remember who in your family would have been listening to the track which topped the Australian charts at that time. Then Graham Cook (the resident Baby Boomer) selects two tracks for the Baby Boomers Double Shot.
How did you first connect with GDR?
I was looking for an ‘Easy Listening’ radio station and discovered GDR.
Why did you want to be a presenter?
Having been a volunteer Presenter at Vision Australia Radio for seven years leading an early morning News team, and also hosting a pre-recorded ‘Food Topics’ program, the opportunity to work with music provided a new and interesting challenge.
What experience do you want to give your listeners?
I try to produce a program that satisfies, BUT still provides variety…..the spice of life. Collaborating with Graham Cook secures listener feedback. Having happy listeners provides a reward, but serving the community in a small way is my aim.
