To make your journey home easier, Tuesday Drive gives you the music you’ve come to love on GDR. From the 50s through to the 80s, there’s a selection of music that you grew up with. From the crooners and divas of the 50s, through the ever-changing 60s, the rise of disco and the West Coast sound of the 70s, to the soft rock and adult contemporary of the 80s. We also feature the GDR Classic Memories of the 30s and 40s.
There’s news, sport and weather on the hour, plus traffic updates if something major is causing delays on the roads.
How did you first connect with GDR?
I was looking to get involved in my local community as a volunteer and I have always thought GDR is a great way to inform and entertain people. Radio is a wonderful medium and a huge part of my life.
Why did you want to be a presenter?
I started my career in radio in the late 70s and music has been such a large part of my life ever since. To be able to play great music and talk to the audience is a rewarding experience and one I wanted to continue.
What experience do you want to give your listeners?
To play music that people have grown up with and to give some background on the artists, singers and musicians that they might not know about. There are so many intriguing stories behind the music; often songs came about by mere chance and went on to become classic tracks.
